    Description

    Listed here are 13 fabulous unusual antique handmade 5" egg cozy dolls in German folkloric costumes in very good condition. These have paper maché faces and hands, no legs, but have wide crocheted lined skirts to go over the hard boiled eggs, and elaborate costumes with headdresses and accessories.  Many have the written on a tag under the skirt.  The regions represented (in order of photos) are Bayern (Bavaria), Hess, Brandenburg (?), Northern Germany, Hessin, Westfalische Bauerin, Westfalische Bauerin, Reinland, Ostpreussen Massuren, Swartzwald (Black Forest), Westfalische Bauerin, Oberfranken, and Niedersachelsche Braut.  In addition, there is a Tyrolian miss made of celluloid probably from the 30s and a crocheted French lady from 1973.
    The is some pitting in the paper maché, but the over all condition is very pleasing.
