    Description

GREETINGS!  I am pleased to offer a sweet, exceptional little antique ca 1926 composition swivel head BYE-LO Baby Doll that appears to never have been played with.  She is 15" long with a frog leg shaped muslin cloth body with original crier embedded in her back that actually still squeaks when patted!  She has weighted blue celluloid over tin sleep eyes that work perfectly, painted upper lashes, single stroke light brown brows, painted coral red bow shaped lips, well rounded cheeks with light blush, nicely moded ears, lightly molded brown hair (tiny rubs on back) and newborn creases molded into her cute grumpy face.  The back of her neck is marked GRACE STOREY PUTNAM.  Her paint is eventone with original luster, her painted features remain bright. Her composition is smooth and without age lines or flaws; there is only a teenie tiny split which is visible close up beneath her left eye.  Her celluloid hands are in perfect condition with a rosy blush on their backs and perfectly formed fingers.  Her intact oatmeal color muslin cloth cotton stuffed body is in perfect condition.  She is dressed in her original labeled ribbon and lace trimmed gown with single shell button back closure and lace trimmed underslip that are in excellent condition with only a very tiny hole in her left gown sleeve. Her gown's original, now faded ribbon cloth label when viewed under special lighting reads BYE-LO BABY, PAT. ?, BORGFELDT & CO. NEW YORK, NY.  Her booties may be original, her flannel diaper appears to be a vintage real baby diaper replacement from her era and her woolen hand knit real baby bonnet with long ribbon ties from her era is a replacement. Bonnet, booties and diaper are also in excellent condition. She appears to be in all original, excellent condition and I have not attempted to undress her.  This special baby is hard to find in all original, as described excellent condition.  She was well cared for all these years, looks beautiful on display and will enhance any serious 1920's era Made In America baby doll collection.
