    Namchi Style Ritual Figure
    Origin - Namchi, Cameroon (probably)
    Fertility Fetish
    Carved from one piece of wood
    Individually hand made
    Embellished with blue, green and rose seed beads, cloth, leather and three fetish pouches
    Doll is roughly 10" tall and about 6” at its widest point
    Condition as above
    These are fetish dolls associated with the Namji/Namchi people who live in north west Cameroon
    The dolls primarily are held by girls to play, to ensure fertility and to prepare them for their role as a mother in later life
    This doll was purchased in the Accra Art’s Center in 2005
