Ngombe Congo African King Royalty Stool Nail Studded 19th C Tabouret.
Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Ngombe royal throne, said to be a queen's stool, comliments the king's chair, denoting prestige and high status. From the general area along the Congo river, West Africa. It is in excellent condition, carved wood, with brass and iron nail studs/tacks all over. It is formidable - heavy wood. While these chairs/stools are uncommon, this one is amazingly comfortable.
Early 20th century, from a private collector of ethnographic arts. I have seen very few available online.
